PCR product detection with LFD

Forsite manufactures lateral flow devices for rapid and low cost detection of PCR products.  The LFDs are available for use with PCR products incorporating either DIG or FITC.

Rapid detection of products from a variety of PCR formats is possible using the Forsite PCR product detector LFD.  The LFD works by binding biotin/DIG or biotin/FITC-labelled PCR product to a line of biotin-binding antibody across the membrane of the device.  The bound probes are visualised by inclusion of coloured latex beads into the PCR product/biotin complex. 

Simple to use, and the results are visible in 2-3 minutes. 

Step 1: include Biotin/DIG or biotin/FITC labels into your PCR reaction

Step 2: run the PCR reaction as normal

Step 3: dilute the reaction product

Step 4: add 75µl of reaction mix onto detector LFD

Step 5: wait for LFD to run, and read the result.  One line indicates the LFD has run, two lines indicate the PCR product has been detected.
